Standardized Testing and Fitness
A California Department of Education study in 2001 showed the following results by matching reading and math scores with fitness scores.  The study was done with all 5th, 7th and 9th graders.

    1.  Higher achievement with higher levels of fitness.
    2.  Students who met minimum fitness levels in 3 or more fitness areas
showed the greatest gains in academic achievement in all grades.
    3.  Females showed the highest gains.
    4.  Math scores showed the biggest increase.

Conclusion:  The amount of exercise students get is directly related to academic achievement.
