Hmong International Academy (HIA) is a Hmong culturally specific school Pre K-Grade 8. Students have daily opportunities to engage in activities that enhance their understanding of the Hmong culture and language. HIA is in the North Side of Minneapolis. At HIA, we have a 50% One-Way Dual Language Program that offers Grade Kindergarten:  120 minutes of Hmong literacy per day.

North: Wednesday, May 4, 5:00-7:00pm

*If students are unable to attend the High School Registration Nights listed above, they will be able to register at HIA with a High School Counselor on May 24, OR Marin Thuen, Middle School Counselor at HIA, will register with them.

Hmong NEW Year celebration at HIA!

Hmong International Academy (HIA) celebrated the annual Hmong New Year on November 24th with an assembly of performances by HIA students, Patrick Henry High School students and an evening performance for family and community members. About 600 attendees were present. There were activities and food provided for all.

Native American Family Involvement Celebration

Hmong International Academy (HIA) celebrated Native American Family Involvement Day on November 19th with a lunch for Native American Indian families and an assembly. HIA had an assembly with performances from the Niiwo Giizhik Pow Wow Dance Troupe.
